Privacy Policy for Tikkun
Last updated: August 2026
1. Introduction
Tikkun is an iOS application developed by an individual, EU-based developer. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what control you have over it. Tikkun is built around a simple idea: your record is yours. We collect the minimum needed to sync your goals across your devices, and nothing for advertising or profiling.
2. Information You Give Us
When you use Tikkun, you provide:
- Account information. You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive an account identifier and, depending on your choice at sign-in, your name and email address. Apple lets you hide your email; we support that.
- Your goals and logs. Goal names, descriptions, emoji, day counts, and the entries you write when you break a habit — the reason, the count, and the time.
- Photos. Only the photos you choose to attach to a log entry. The app never accesses your photo library beyond what you pick.
We do not collect your location, contacts, or any payment or financial information.
3. How Your Content Is Used
Your goals, logs, and photos are used for one purpose: showing them back to you and keeping them in sync. We do not read them, analyse them, use them for marketing, sell them, or use them to build a profile of you. We do not attempt to identify anyone from uploaded photos.
4. Technical and Automatically Collected Data
Operating the app may incidentally involve processing technical data such as:
- IP address
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
- Timestamps of requests
- Crash and error diagnostics
This data is used solely to keep the service working, secure, and free of bugs — not to identify you personally.
5. Third-Party Services
Tikkun relies on a small number of service providers:
- Firebase (Google) for infrastructure, data storage, and crash diagnostics, under Google’s privacy policy.
- Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In for authentication, under their respective privacy policies.
We do not use advertising networks or analytics for marketing.
6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process your data on the basis of the contract between you and us (providing the app you signed up for), your consent (for optional content such as photos), and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and functional. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Your goals, logs, and photos are kept for as long as you keep your account. You can delete any individual goal or log entry at any time, and you can delete your entire account — including every goal, log, and photo — from inside the app in two taps. Deletion is permanent. Diagnostic logs are retained only as long as operationally necessary.
8. Children's Privacy
Tikkun is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will investigate and delete it.
9. International Use
The developer is based in the EU and the service is primarily aimed at users in Hungary and the European Union, though the app is available worldwide. Where data is transferred internationally (for example via our service providers), we rely on their applicable compliance mechanisms.
10. Your Rights (EU Users)
If you are in the EU, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we process about you
- Request a copy of your data
- Request correction or deletion
- Restrict or object to processing
The fastest way to exercise deletion is the in-app account deletion described above; for anything else, contact us.

12. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page and, where the change is significant, noted in the app.
